The Subaru BRZ/Scion FR-S/Toyato GT86 have taken the world by storm by offering an inexpensive option to consumers who want to have a little fun on the road. It would be only a matter of time before the Japanese auto maker, Toyota came up with a convertible version. Well it is almost here and today we have brought you a series of photos before Toyota officially reveals the car to the world at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, next week.
Known as the Toyota FT-86 Open Concept, the car matches most of its sibling’s hard-top’s specifications. Meaning it uses the same 200 horsepower, 151 lb-ft of torque 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer engine. The interior also remains mostly the same except, the cabin features a white and navy blue leather upholstery, navy blue and metallic accents, yellow matching carpeting and stitching, complete with alloy pedals. The infotainment system in the center console has been replaced by a smaller single unit and new gauges.
Toyota has not released technical specification on the FT-86 Open Convertible Concept, but we should expect this model to be heavier and less agile than its coupe brother.
